The GAGE Facility, operated by UNAVCO, is transitioning from FTP to HTTPS for access to our data archive file system. The new HTTPS data file server will be operational and available starting June 1st, 2021. The FTP server will be retired June 1st, 2022.
During this transition both FTP and HTTPS will be supported and FTP will continue to be hosted, as it has been, with the same host and paths. Please note that on-going changes in best practice cybersecurity implementation may make FTP unusable to you or your institution before this date. Most major browsers and operating systems have already removed pre-installed support for FTP and some even block its installation. UNAVCO highly recommends you make these changes as quickly as possible to avoid any disruptions.
The new HTTPS server is located at https://data.unavco.org . Please start using it at your earliest convenience via a web browser and update your data access scripts to use it via cURL, Wget, or other scripts, etc.
Please note the new HTTPS server will have a new file organization in order to accommodate more instrument types' data, the paths to data will now start with the instrument type, e.g., /gnss, at the root level. Paths will change like so:
|Old FTP URL||New HTTPS URL||
Subdirectory structures and filenames in the GNSS subdirectory will remain unchanged from the FTP server's layout.
See our HTTPS File Server Access Examples to see how to get files from the command line.
