Web Services

The GAGE Facility is working to provide unified access to our Web Services based on consistent interfaces, API documentation, and best practices. Currently, only a portion of GAGE Web Services are presented in this unified format and are listed here by instrument/sensor type, e.g., GNSS/GPS or Geodetic Imaging, and data type, e.g., Metadata or Time Series Data. We list Production, Beta, and Deprecated services here. The suite of unified web services will become more comprehensive over time. Our various non-unified web services are also listed here for completeness.

See our Versioning page for descriptions of web service versioning methods and types of releases.

See our Release Notes for a list of changes in the current release and past releases.

Index

Multi-Sensor

Multi-Data Sensor services span multiple instrument sensor types.

  • Metadata

    • Station Metadata
Retrieves a subset of station metadata for all stations or the list of stations provided for the following sensor types: GNSS/GPS, Strain, Seismic, Tilt, Pore, and Met.
    • Station Metadata
Retrieves a subset of station metadata for all stations or the list of stations provided for the following sensor types: GNSS/GPS, Strain, Seismic, Tilt, Pore, and Met. This internal service includes station summary notes.

GNSS/GPS

GNSS/GPS data refer to raw measurements collected from GNSS/GPS receivers and antennas at survey points; processed results such as geodetic positions of survey points; or geologic velocities of those points.

SAR

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is geodetic imaging data collected by techniques that use electromagnetic waves for tracking centimeter-scale motions at the Earth’s surface over several square meters to hundreds of square kilometers.

  • Other Imaging Web Services

    • SAR API
Provides data and metadata for GAGE's SAR data holdings via a variety of query parameters. NOTE: These services are being maintained although they do not conform to our unified web services design.
  • Metadata

Metadata web services will be listed here that provide results in a variety of formats, e.g., CSV, JSON, XML, etc.

  • Time Series

Time series data web services will be listed here that provide results in a variety of formats, e.g., CSV

  • Events

Event data web services will be listed here that provide results in a variety of formats, e.g., CSV.

  • Spatial Data

Spatial data web services will be listed here that provide results in a variety of formats, e.g., KML.

Borehole Sensors

Geodetic strain data is collected by four-component deep borehole tensor strainmeters that record transient deformation signals yielding information about the physical properties of the surrounding rock. Pore pressure and temperature readings are collected by pore pressure sensors co-located with borehole strainmeters. Tilt data is collected by shallow borehole tiltmeters co-located with borehole strainmeters and seismic stations.

GAGE maintains more than 70 borehole seismometers as part of the PBO Borehole Seismic Network with sites. The sensors are Sonde-2 seismometers. The data set generated by the PBO Borehole Seismic Network has become an integral component to research being done in regional seismic networks, such as those in Anza, California, and Yellowstone National Park.

  • Time Series

    • Strain Level 2 Time Series Data
Provides strain level 2 data for a given station and time range. Data returned includes uncorrected and corrected strain for each channel, and uncorrected and corrected values for areal, differential extension, and shear strain.
    • Pore Pressure and Temperature Data
Retrieves pore pressure and temperature data for the station identified by four character id, and start and end times.
    • Tilt Data
Retrieves tilt data for the station identified by four character id, and start and end times.
    • Seismic Station Counts Time Series Data
      Returns: date, count.
  • Event Data

Tropospheric

Troposheric meteorological data are collected along with GNSS/GPS and other forms of geophysical data to enhance the datasets, contribute to network monitoring information, and provide additional information for interpretation of deformation signals.

  • Time Series

    • Meteorological Time Series Data
Provides meteorological time series data collected by instruments at the specified GNSS/GPS station in a given time range.
  • Metadata

Metadata web services will be listed here that provide results in a variety of formats, e.g., CSV, JSON, XML, etc.

  • Event Data

Event data web services will be listed here that provide results in a variety of formats, e.g., CSV.

  • Spatial Data

Spatial data web services will be listed here that provide results in a variety of formats, e.g., KML.

Hydrologic Products

Hydrologic products are displacement models calculated at GNSS/GPS station coordinates and based on loading from water stored as snowpack, soil moisture, and in vegetation.

  • Time Series

    • Hydrological Loading Timeseries
Provides time series of displacements from loading based on loading from water stored as snowpack, soil moisture, and in vegetation.

Miscellaneous

In addition to geodetic sensor data, GAGE provides web services for a variety of miscellaneous GAGE assets.

Deprecated Web Services

The following web services are deprecated and remain available only to provide time for users to update their code. Please see their new equivalent (if available) in the Production area.
