Summary: Ian Joughin and his team worked in the vicinity of the WAIS Divide camp, to perform several shallow coring (sidewinder) and snow pit studies to determine density variations within a few hundred kilometers of the divide. This information will be used in conjunction with CRESIS aerial measurements to help produce accumulation estimates in the area. UNAVCO provided the group with 4 receivers and solar panels. No training was required as the group is very familiar with the equipment.
