Summary: Determining the extent and affects of ice during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) is of interest to Dr. Prentice and his team. There is uncertainty in the size of local lakes in the McMurdo Dry Valleys during and after the LGM. Prentice utilized ground penetrating radar (GPR) and analysis of historic deltas to help constrain the size of the lakes. UNAVCO provided the I-133 team with training and two Trimble dual channel GPS receiver systems.  One of the GPS units was integrated directly with the GPR to provide tight coupling of time and geospatial location to each GPR shot.
