Summary: Dr. Ross Virginia and his group are a part of the McMurdo LTER project, studying the response of soil biota to changes in climate substrate chemistry. Now into the forth season of a 6-yr funding period, Virginia revisited soil plots at Lake Fryxell and the west lobe of Lake Bonney. They requested UNAVCO training, 2 dual channel GPS receivers to re-measure their sampling locations and to map cross sections of various slopes within TaylorValley. UNACVO also provided data processing and archiving for the group.
