Summary: Dr. Conway and Dr. Stone's group is working to define the Holocene history of Reedy glacier through both geological and geophysical means. Learning the history of Reedy glacier, and in particular determining whether the glacier is in continued retreat, will lend insight into the recent and current dynamics of the West Antarctic ice sheet. UNAVCO provided three Trimble 5700 receivers for kinematic surveying, one Trimble 4800 receiver for measuring sample locations, training, and processing and archiving of the data. |
