Summary:
Mt. Moulten in Marie Byrd Land, West Antarctica, offers an ice record dating back beyond 140,000 years. GPS was used for kinematic mapping of tephra layers, measurement of a network of velocity stakes installed during the 1999/00 season, and to measure accurate locations of sampling and drilling sites. Two receivers (Trimble 4000 and 4700), training, and archiving were provided.
