Summary: UNAVCO aided in ground-truthing of Lidar data by locating points with real-time kinematic (RTK) GPS methods for the comparison of elevations obtained with Lidar vs. with GPS. The McMurdo base station, a Trimble 4700 equipped with a radio, and a Trimble 4700 rover with a backpack and range pole were used in the RTK surveying. Data archiving was also provided.
