Summary: Gayle Dana requested GPS support to map the outline of three snow-patches on the south side of Lake Hoare and two on the Canada Glacier. The patches were surveyed three times in November 2000. During the GPS surveys Dr. Dana would measure depth, temperature and density of the patches. As a formal collaborator in the LTER project Dr. Dana models the energy and mass balance in Taylor Valley. UNAVCO provided field support, data processing, and archiving after the field surveys.
