Summary: In an effort to expand the potential geographic arena in the search for Antarctic meteorites, a second ANSMET event was funded this season to provide reconnaissance in areas not previously explored for meteorites. Reconnaissance targets include northeastern regions of the LaPaz Icefields area, icefields in the Patuxent Range, and icefields adjacent to the Omega and Whichaway nunataks. UNAVCO provided G-057 with two GPS receivers so that sites with high recovery potential could be mapped for future field visits.
