Summary: The ANDRILL crew continued in its efforts to recover a high resolution Pleistocene to Holocene paleoenvironmental record preserved in sediment strata at the bottom of McMurdo Sound. As part of the ongoing work on the ANDRILL project, the group explored potential new drill sites in the Ross Sea region. This year those efforts were focused in New Harbor at the terminus of the Taylor Valley where over 50 km of multi channel seismic shot data was taken. UNAVCO engineers measured the location of each point along the shot line, set at 100 meter intervals, and provided the group with highly accurate coordinates along their seismic grid.
