Hourly Integrated Precipitable Water Vapor

Get Integrated PWV
The UCAR COSMIC program processes GPS data in hourly segments to produce near-realtime precipitable water vapor (PWV) estimates across North America. The data processed are from the NOTA Network operated by the GAGE Facility (formerly the PBO and COCONet networks), Suominet + NOAA, USCG/USACE, DOT, and other sites. A subset of processed sites are co-located with met stations or near National Weather Service Automated Surface Stations (ASOS). The resulting Integrated Precipitable Water Vapor (PWV) estimates are used in weather forecasting and atmospheric research.

PWV is reported in millimeters at a given station. All stations are combined into daily and hourly files for North America. These files are available as binary NETCDF and ASCII text formats.
