Description: This two-hour workshop encapsulates two one-hour sessions.

  • THEORY (2:30pm-3:30pm) - Want to learn more about using social media to communicate your science? We will discuss best practices, tips, guidelines, and inspirations for multiple social media platforms as well as sharing the power of what social media can do for your science. Ideal for beginners but helpful for all levels.
  • LAB (3:30pm-4:30pm) - Participate in breakout sessions with experts on specific social media platforms including Snapchat, Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. Learn how to use or improve your game on these different platforms to communicate with different demographics using different types of media. Additional social media experts leading discussions on specific platforms included Julian Lozos, Andy Frasetto, and Adam Forte.
