Summary:
Dr. Marchant and his group examined ancient lake sediments to infer paleoclimates and ecological conditions in the dry valleys. 
Precise locations were needed to accurately correlate beds in the mapped stratigraphy near Mt. Boreas and the Friis Hills. UNAVCO provided 
training, two Trimble 5700/R7 receivers, assistance with post-processing and data archival for mapping and measuring rock units
