Roving Equipment

The roving system is the GPS equipment that users take in the field. An example roving system that can be requested from UNAVCO consists of a Trimble R7 receiver, Zephyr Geodetic antenna, a hand-held data collector, and survey bipod. UNAVCO can provide a wide array of systems customized for each user's individual needs, however no inventory of roving systems is currently maintained at Atqasuk. Users should request such items prior to the field season.

Alternatively, UNAVCO maintains a set of roving equipment at Barrow, which may be scheduled in advance for loan to users working in the Atqasuk area.

Pre-season training at UNAVCO is also strongly recommended.
