Data Processing Software

During the austral summer season, UNAVCO maintains several hardware license keys at McMurdo for Trimble Business Center GPS data processing software. Users can check out a license for use while in Antarctica. UNAVCO also maintains a license server in Boulder which can be used to check out software licenses remotely, on a limited basis when users need to perform further processing after leaving Antarctica.

In general, UNAVCO personnel will process GPS data which we have collected in the field. For GPS data collected by science teams, the responsibility for data processing generally lies with the group. Training on the GPS processing software can be provided at McMurdo, however for projects with a largecomponent of GPS surveying, pre-season training at UNAVCO on survey techniques and data processing is highly recommended.
