D.3 Management and Operations Staff

The following staff constitute the UNAVCO Boulder Facility FY97/98 management and operations support staff:

Ware, Randolph (Director): Responsible for oversight of the UNAVCO Program of UCAR. Represents UNAVCO Community activity to agencies, the scientific community, Congress, manufacturers and the public. Leads new community initiatives expanding the disciplinary applications of GPS.

Shiver, Wayne (Boulder Facility Manager, Deputy Director): Provides management and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the UNAVCO Boulder Facility. Interacts with Program Managers in the various funding agencies. Works directly with UNAVCO Steering Committee, working groups, member representatives, institutions, and Principal Investigators to establish priorities for Facility activities and resources. Interacts with GPS manufacturers and other vendors on behalf of the UNAVCO Community. Serves as Deputy Director of the UNAVCO Program of UCAR.

Barrett, Twyla (Program Administrator): Helps develop and implement UNAVCO's financial management and budget plans, including compliance with all contractual requirements. Serves as liaison for UCAR Finance, Purchasing, Administration, Human Resources, Facilities, and the Office of Programs. Processes all financial reports for project costs and invoicing. Responsible for physical site management, including space and security. Member of the UNAVCO Management Team.

Crawford, Scott (Systems Administrator): Responsible for support of both scientific and office computer operations. Maintains and monitors installation and upgrades of hardware and software systems, and troubleshoots and repairs hardware and network problems. Proposes and implements systems enhancements. Writes programs and scripts to increase system functionality.

Allen, Amy (Administrative Assistant): Provides administrative support for the Facility Manager, the Program Administrator, and the Data Management and Archiving Group. Prepares technical papers, reports and proposals. Monitors budgets and tracks expenses. Coordinates travel for staff and visitors.
