2016 Workshop: Scientific Drivers and Future of Mount Erebus Volcano Observatory (MEVO)

The three-day workshop will be held on Monday, February 22 to Wednesday, February 24 at UNAVCO headquarters in Boulder, CO. Dr. Peter LaFemina, Chair of the UNAVCO Board of Directors and I are acting as the workshop coordinators.

The MEVO workshop will support ~15 community scientists, former and current MEVO PIs, and a small number of key UNAVCO and IRIS Polar Services staff. The goal of the workshop is a review of geophysical and biological science achievements to date along with the current infrastructure of MEVO, and a plan for future geophysical and other infrastructure needs for MEVO. These will be enumerated in a workshop report which will be preliminarily composed on the third day of the workshop and then submitted to the NSF within 60 days after the close of the workshop. Attached below is a draft agenda for the workshop for your review and information.
