Aquifer System Response

Similar to extraction of fluids due to hydrocarbon withdrawal and even more pervasive, aquifer system compaction due to water withdrawal can be detected by geodetic techniques. Land subsidence is noted particularly in areas of fragile balance between humans and water reservoirs (link); however, it is a worldwide problem. More information can be found via this link.
