The 2010 UNAVCO Science Workshop will be held at the Millennium Harvest House in Boulder, Colorado. This 2 and 1/2 day Workshop will include science sessions, poster presentations, breakout discussions and informal meetings along with a field trip. There will also be a dinner with a plenary lecture by Bernard Minster, who will provide us with a historical perspective on space geodesy and its applications to geoophysics, from the early days to the latest NRC study. The full-day Teaching Geodesy in the 21st Century – an ‘On the Cutting Edge’ Follow-on Workshop will be held on Monday, March 8. Visit the UNAVCO Science Workshop webpage for more information.
Four Plenary Sessions will be organized around the following crosscutting themes:
-
Toward a pixel-by-pixel view of Earth's surface changes
-
Expanding the temporal range of high precision GPS observations
-
Opportunities posed by advances in geodesy
-
Geodesy and water in a changing climate
