Course Information | GPS Data Processing and Analysis with GAMIT/GLOBK/TRACK

  • Dates: June 19-23, 2017
  • Time: Course will begin at 9am on Monday, June 19 and end at Noon on Friday, June 23, 2017.
  • Location: UNAVCO Headquarters, Boulder, CO

The workshop will be divided into three parts to accommodate differing levels of experience and both static and kinematic applications. Monday's lectures will be a review of GAMIT and GLOBK commands and file structures, and useful Unix command-line sequences not incorporated into scripts. Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday will feature lectures on reference frame realization, error analysis, and efficient processing of both continuous and survey-model observations. On all three days, there will be time allotted for one-on-one tutoring using participant’s own data sets. Thursday and Friday will focus on kinematic measurements and GPS seismology, including real-time processing. Participants interested only in static measurements may wish to remain through Thursday for one-on-one tutoring in a parallel session.

Participants must bring their own laptops running a Unix-type system (Linux; Mac OS X; Cygwin or virtual machine software on Windows). Participants are required to have installed and exercised the software before the course and must have a sample data set and a processing goal for tutoring assistance throughout the week. The three tutors are available for assistance via email prior to the workshop.

The course does not have a registration fee, but participants will pay their own travel and living expenses. UNAVCO will provide lunch and snacks during the short courses.

Limited funds from UNAVCO are available for student participation. If you are currently a student and would like to request support in order to attend the short courses, please fill out the Application for avilable under Financial Support.

This short course will be available via WebEx for those who would like to attend virtually. Please indicate when you register if you will be attending the meeting in Boulder or virtually.
