UNAVCO Headquarters in Boulder, Colorado
The UNAVCO Master Teacher-in-Residence summer program is an initiative designed to involve a master teacher in UNAVCO education and outreach endeavors. The successful candidate will be an energetic, active master teacher with teaching certification in Earth science or related discipline who has at least five years experience middle and/or high school science teaching experience. This individual will work at UNAVCO headquarters in Boulder, CO for two weeks in June/ July/ August 2007.
The master teacher-in-residence will have the following roles:
- Work independently and with UNAVCO education and outreach staff to develop classroom materials for middle and high school Earth science classrooms.
- Pilot-test project materials in his/her classroom during the 2007-2008 school year and provide UNAVCO with resulting student work for assessment purposes.
- Interact with UNAVCO in the future in the context of professional development activities, dissemination of classroom materials, etc. .
