Nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, UNAVCO Headquarters in Boulder, Colorado
The UNAVCO Faculty-in-Residence summer program is an initiative designed to involve college/university faculty members in UNAVCO education and outreach endeavors. The successful candidates will be energetic, active members of the UNAVCO community who teach introductory/general education college geoscience courses. The Faculty-in-Residence will work at UNAVCO headquarters in Boulder, CO for one week in June, July, or August each year.
The faculty-in-residence will have the following roles:
- Work independently and with UNAVCO education and outreach staff to develop classroom materials for introductory/general education geoscience courses and/or upper level geophysics courses.
- Pilot-test project materials in his/her classroom during the following academic year and work with UNAVCO to assess students' learning.
- Share GPS and plate tectonics content knowledge with the UNAVCO Master Teacher(s)-in-Residence.
- Interact with UNAVCO in the future in the context of professional development activities, dissemination of classroom materials, and more.
