Kate Tallerday
Kate Tallerday
Outreach Coordinator Kate Tallerday is a member of the Education and Outreach team at UNAVCO to develop and implement an outreach section and agenda of the Education and Outreach strategic plan. She is charged with creating and maintianing outreach materials, facilitating requests for outreach/education services, and acting as editor for the UNAVCO website. Kate brings a unique background to the UNAVCO Education and Outreach Program. Kate was formerly the director of the Telluride Institute's Watershed Education Project, where she coordinated place-based educational units, field trips, summer camps, and internships in and around the San Miguel River Watershed in southwest Colorado. Kate also developed and taught K-12 watershed curriculum, wrote grants, and lead fundraising activities. In 2003 and 2004 Kate assisted the Nairamdal International Children's Center in Mongolia to develop an environmental education program while serving in the Peace Corps.
