SINEX solutions and accompanying files should be submitted to the
UNAVCO GPS Site Motion Vector/Crustal Velocity Archive
by contacting
Lou Estey (lou
unavco.org).
Any questions/requests for help with the data format or solution
preparation should be directed to
David Lavallee (D.A.Lavallee
newcastle.ac.uk).
At this preliminary stage we have avoided too much detail in these guidelines; however, they are likely to become more detailed as solutions are submitted and we get a better picture of the tasks involved. If you would like to submit a solution but are having trouble with the SINEX format or solution preparation please get in touch, your contribution to GPSVEL is valuable.
The following file(s) are required for Permanent/Campaign Network solutions to be included in GPSVEL:
1) Weekly, Daily or campaign SINEX solution files and/or SINEX velocity solution files (fiducial free velocity solutions preferred)
A definitive description of the SINEX format is given at the IGS Central Bureau. IGS conventions for SINEX receiver/antenna codes should be followed where possible.
The submitted SINEX files must include the following blocks:
Only if the solution is "fiducial free" (i.e. very loose station constraints)
should the APRIORI blocks be omitted.
The following site information blocks, though not required, are highly
recommended and should be included to fully document the network and provide
consistency checks between solutions:
2) The FILE/COMMENTS blocks of each file should contain a general description of the submitted solution e.g.:
3) Additional Network station information: The submitted SINEX should include station equipment information. Additionally any other source of station information should be included e.g. IGS format site logs, a SINEX network catalogue or links to any web pages describing the network. Any other relevant information, e.g. Web links, should also be included for the UNAVCO GPS Site Motion Vector/Crustal Velocity Archive.
Examples of a velocity solution SINEX file (62 kb) and the accompanying GPSVEL 0.2 solution (40 kb) for the Central Greece network are provided.
