Logistics and Travel - Long-Range Science Goals for Geodesy Community Workshop

Support

**If you are requesting support, you will be notified by Monday, September 14, 2009.

Supported Participants will received an airfare allowance, one night hotel accommodations, airport transfers and meeting day meals.

Unsupported Participants are welcome to attend. UNAVCO will cover meeting day meals (breakfast, lunch and am/pm breaks).

Air Reservations

UNAVCO will provide an airfare allowance up to $450.00 for supported participants traveling from East of the Mississippi and $350.00 for those traveling from West of the Mississippi. Please contact please contact Jaime Magliocca (Maglioccaunavco.org) for assistance if you are traveling from Alaska, Hawaii, the US territories, internationally or if you’re your flight costs are higher than the allowance.

Participants are able to make airline reservations either through UNAVCO’s Travel Agency, Boulder Travel, or on their own. If supported participants prefer to use Boulder Travel, UNAVCO will purchase the airline ticket up to the allowed fare. If supported participants prefer to purchase their own flights, UNAVCO will reimburse you for the allowed fare. Please contact Jaime Magliocca (Maglioccaunavco.org) for an expense report.

Hotel Reservations

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center:

UNAVCO will cover supported participants hotel costs for the evening of Monday, October 5, 2009. If support is offered to you, your reservation will be added to the UNAVCO master list and you will not be charged for your room. Incidentals (room service, parking, etc.) will not be covered. If you are planning to extend your reservation, please contact Jaime Magliocca (Maglioccaunavco.org).

Shuttle Service to and from the Airport

UNAVCO has designated Valley Shuttle as the shuttle service for this workshop. Please contact Valley Transfer to make a reservation (www.valleyshuttle.com or 801.566.8500). Please mention you are with the UNAVCO Workshop and your transfer will be directly billed to UNAVCO. If you choose not to use Valley Shuttle, UNAVCO can cover your shuttle service from Salt City Airport to the Hilton Salt Lake City Center and return up to $9.00 each way.

Shuttle Service from the Hilton to Snowbird, UT

If you are traveling to Snowbird after the Workshop, Valley Shuttle can pick up from the Hilton Salt Lake City Center. Please contact Valley Transfer to make a reservation (www.valleyshuttle.com or 801.566.8500). UNAVCO will not cover transfers to or from Snowbird. One way transfers are approximately $20.

Meals

UNAVCO will cover breakfast, lunch and am/pm breaks for all attendees on October 6. A per diem for supported participants will not be provided.

Other Expenses

Other participant expense (parking, mileage, per diem, etc.) will not be reimbursed by UNAVCO.
