After a very hectic month (or year), with lots of people contributing lots of time and effort, UNAVCO has submitted four major proposals: A UNAVCO Community and Facility Support proposal, an Existing Networks proposal, and two EarthScope proposals, one for building the EarthScope facility and one for Operations and Maintenance. You can download PDF files of all four from our Proposals Web page. It wasn't easy to come to closure on these efforts simultaneously, but I believe we can be proud of all of the results. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people involved in helping with this effort. The people listed below contributed to these proposals by providing text, or figures, or writing, or editing, or review. I have undoubtedly missed some people, so let me apologize up front if your name should be on one or more of these lists and isn't. We owe Mike Jackson a huge thanks for taking on a job that everybody knew had to be done, but somebody had to actually do, and he did. His work on the PBO proposal set a high standard for the entire EarthScope effort. And Jim Davis, though no longer officially involved in UNAVCO, and certainly deserving of a rest, made major contributions to all proposals. Jim Davis and Brian Wernicke stepped in at a critical point and insured that the Existing Networks proposal was finished. Chuck Meertens and Bjorn Johns spent long hours beating the Community and Facility proposal into shape. And behind the scenes, pulling the strings on all of us, Wayne Shiver made sure it all happened.
